Respite Providers

Level 1 Respite Providers earn $14.80 per hour

• Required: High School Diploma or GED

Level 2 Respite Providers earn $17.05 per hour

• Required: Certification/Degree related to supporting children with special needs

*One of the following trainings are required to become a Level 2 Respite Provider: MANDT, TCI, WELLE, or SAFETY CARE. 

• • Safety Care training is offered at no cost for employed Respite Providers. Scheduling for this training is dependent upon the trainer’s availability and is not guaranteed immediately

• • MANDT, TCI, and Welle are not offered through NAMI

Both Level 1 & Level 2 Respite Providers

1. Roundtrip mileage reimbursement is available for up to 130 miles per respite session (from the Respite Provider’s home to the service location)
2. Providers may work up to 29 hours each week (based on availability)
3. Hourly rate of pay increases by $1.00 for each additional child you are caring for within the same respite family (up to 4 children maximum)
