Midcoast Youth Mental Health First Aid Training for Merrymeeting Adult Ed

NAMI Maine is excited to offer this virtual Youth Mental Health First Aid training to Merrymeeting Adult Education in partnership with Midcoast Health. Mental Health First Aid is a national best-practice, evidence-based certification course that is 8 hours in length, consisting of 2 hours of self-paced learning and 6 hours of instructor-led material over Zoom. Youth Mental Health First Aid leads to a 3-year certification issued by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing.

This training will be held on Zoom on Thursday, August 17th, 2023 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. There will be small breaks and time for lunch, but please come to the training prepared with whatever will make you comfortable (snacks, drinks, etc).

1-2 weeks before the date of the training, the pre-work will become available via the MHFA Connect portal, and individuals will receive an email with log-in information and instructions for accessing the portal. Participants can complete the pre-work at their convenience, but it mustbe completed prior to the instructor-led session on August 17th in order to receive certification. The Zoom link for the training will also be provided in MHFA Connect.
