NAMI Maine is excited to offer this in-person Youth Mental Health First Aid training to staff at Acadia National Park. Mental Health First Aid is a national best-practice, evidence-based certification course that is 8 hours in length, consisting of 2 hours of self-paced learning and 6 hours of instructor-led material. Youth Mental Health First Aid leads to a 3-year certification issued by the National Council for Mental Wellness.
This training will be held in-person on Friday, June 30th, 2023 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Training Trailer at Acadia National Park Headquarters on Rte. 233. There will be small breaks and time for lunch, but please come to the training prepared with whatever will make you comfortable (snacks, drinks, etc).
2-3 weeks before the date of the training, the pre-work will become available via the MHFA Connect portal, and individuals will receive an email with log-in information and instructions for accessing the portal. Participants can complete the pre-work at their convenience, but it mustbe completed prior to the instructor-led session on June 30th in order to receive certification.
