NAMI Maine is excited to host this in-person Youth Mental Health First Aid training for community members at our office in Hallowell! Mental Health First Aid is a national best-practice, evidence-based certification course that is 8 hours in length, consisting of 2 hours of self-paced learning (pre-work) and 6 hours of instructor-led material. Youth Mental Health First Aid leads to a 3-year certification issued by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing.
This training will be held in-person on Tuesday, May 30th, 2023 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the NAMI Maine office in Hallowell (52 Water Street). There will be small breaks and time for lunch, but please come to the training prepared with whatever will make you comfortable.
2-3 weeks before the date of the training, the 2-hour pre-work will become available via the MHFA Connect portal, and individuals will receive an email with log-in information and instructions for accessing the portal at that time. Participants can complete the pre-work at their convenience, but it must be completed prior to the instructor-led session on May 30th in order to receive certification.
