This training will take place virtually on Tuesday, June 20th, 2023 from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM.
Every school district is required to develop and implement comprehensive protocols, informing how they manage suicide prevention, intervention, when there is a risk of suicidal behavior, and their response in the aftermath of a suicide attempt or loss. The likelihood of schools encountering a potential suicidal situation is real.
Maine loses an average of 26 youth under age 25 to suicide per year. Protocols provide school staff with direction, structure, and support to safely assist in a suicidal situation, including prevention, intervention, and postvention. This workshop will provide schools with resources and tools to be able to develop their own protocols within their district.
Group attendance from your district is highly encouraged as this will be a team effort in the development of your school/district protocols. Please register individually.
When: Tuesday, June 20th from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Presenter: Greg Marley, LCSW, Director of Suicide Prevention
