DESCRIPTION:The Training of the Trainer will be held on Thursday\, January 22\, 2026 from 10:15 AM to 3:15PM at the Norman Minsky Lecture Hall at Bangor Public Library\, 145 Harlow Street\, Bangor\, Maine\, 04401. The Norman Minsky Lecture Hall is located on the third floor of the library. It is accessible by stairs or elevator.   \nThis training is a half-day program available to train Gatekeepers to facilitate a 1-2 hour Suicide Prevention Awareness Session for co-workers\, school staff\, and/or other community members. Materials\, including the PowerPoint presentations and model handouts\, are provided for preparing\, planning\, and conducting the sessions. \nPlease note that there is only a short break. DESCRIPTION:NAMI Androscoggin is the local affiliate for NAMI Maine\, the Maine Chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. We will be tabling in The Auburn Public Library on May 4th from 11 AM to 2 PM\, where you can come and talk with volunteers in person about resources and questions regarding mental health in Maine\, and the resources that are available.\n\nWe invite attendees to chat with our team about:\n\n\nResources for navigating the mental health\, healthcare\, and/or criminal justice system.\n\n\nUnderstanding your rights as a peer or family member & how to best advocate for yourself and others.\n\n\nFree resources and materials about mental health and recovery\n\n\nConnecting with our Helpline and Suicide Prevention Program in collaborative problem-solving around mental health concerns\n\n\nFind information on educational opportunities and alternative avenues for support\n\n\nOur array of programming and initiatives\, including Support Groups\, Youth Education\, Suicide Prevention\, and Resources for first responders and veterans.
